"Destroyed"
1. "Destroyed" is a sports columns written and posted by Peter F. Martin. The article is about how society sees people who use performance enhancing drugs. And how we shouldn't treat them like an enemy of the state just for trying to obtain some kind of glory that is easier to obtain through these means. He later goes on to say that we shouldn't shun these players as if they are criminals. We need to help them because these drugs come with a cost far greater than most understand.
2. This paragraph discusses how the use of steroids is against what the ideology of sports stands for. It causes the ideals of perfect health and hard work to be turned into a game of only obtaining glory through cheating. It tarnishes the golden pedestal that athletes have stood on for generations. Not only does it do this, but it also kills the very people that we used to admire, and we need to see this, instead of just condemning those that use these drugs and moving on.
3. "Steroids and other performance enhancers are a true threat to sports. They challenge the ideals of sports, passed down to use from the Greeks and more recently from earlier decades of professional competition, when athletes more closely resembled real people." (Martin, 10) I feel that this quote embodies the entire point of the article. It is the statement in the article that gives you the true idea that the author has been trying to explain. That its not just about the fairness of the sport, its about making sure that players are human, and celebrating the best that these humans can be without tarnishing them with chemicals and other "cheats".

4. My strength in writing comes in my ability to be creative in my writing. Writers block doesn't come easy to me, and I feel that helps me keep focused on my work and complete my assignments. I also do very well in what my schools have called voice, which was explained to be my ability to insert myself and my own way of writing into my papers and assignments
5. My issues in my writing come from my use of grammar and punctuation. I sometimes get marked down on how my sentences are grammatically structured because sometimes I have very badly run into sentences. This normally means I need to remember to split ideas into their own sentences and make sure to use the proper punctuation when doing so.
